Riyadh will welcome the second edition of the Global Labour Market Conference (GLMC) at the King Abdulaziz International Convention Center from January 29-30, 2025. The conference is set to bring together more than 5,000 participants and feature over 200 international speakers, including ministers, CEOs, and experts from more than 50 countries.
The event, known for being the world’s only platform that unites global labour market decision-makers, will be supported by key knowledge partners: the International Labour Organization (ILO), the World Bank, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The conference will kick off with a roundtable attended by over 40 labour ministers from around the globe, continuing the discussions from the 2023 ministerial roundtable.
The GLMC 2025 will delve into six new thematic pillars: upskilling and reskilling, the advantages of a mobile workforce, bridging the gap between young workers’ aspirations and expectations, technological equity, the expansion of green jobs, and support for SMEs to foster productive and meaningful employment. The agenda will include keynote speeches, workshops, debates, and research tracks designed to address these themes and further develop the global labour market.
Participants will hear from a diverse array of speakers, including high-profile global figures and policymakers, who will lead discussions on these critical issues. The conference aims to provide a comprehensive platform for sharing knowledge, exploring innovative solutions, and fostering international collaboration in the labour market sector.
“GLMC 2025 represents a significant opportunity to continue shaping the future of work,” said a conference spokesperson. “With the support of our esteemed knowledge partners and the participation of a wide range of global stakeholders, we aim to drive meaningful discussions and actions that will impact labour markets worldwide.”
The conference will be held under the patronage of His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, reflecting the importance of this international event in the region. Media attendees will have access to a dedicated media centre, where they can cover the keynotes, panels, and side events, as well as conduct interviews with the prominent speakers and experts present.
Registration for the 2025 event is now open, and interested parties are encouraged to secure their place early. For more details on the conference, including a list of confirmed speakers and registration information, visit the GLMC website.
This edition of the GLMC aims to build on the success of the inaugural conference in 2023, offering a robust platform for discussing and addressing the evolving challenges and opportunities in the global labour market.
