SCJ Renewables, a Northumberland-based solar energy specialist, has raised an impressive £29,350 in 2024 for local charities across the North East. The donation equates to 2% of the company’s earnings for the year, reflecting its strong commitment to giving back to the communities it serves.
Established in 2018 and based in Cramlington, SCJ Renewables has built a reputation for providing solar energy and photovoltaics services throughout the North East and beyond. In addition to its business success, the company has consistently demonstrated its dedication to social responsibility by contributing financially and offering its expertise to various charitable initiatives.
The £29,350 raised in 2024 has been spread across a wide range of causes, with several key contributions. These include:
- Operating and maintaining Solar PV systems for charities like Willow Burn Hospice in Durham and Maggie’s Centre in Newcastle upon Tyne.

One of SCJ Renewables’ latest charitable projects involved donating £1,000 to Crawford House and The Sick Children’s Trust. The contribution will fund 25 nights of accommodation for families staying near the Royal Victoria Infirmary while their children receive medical treatment.
Sean McIntyre, Managing Director of SCJ Renewables, expressed pride in the company’s charitable efforts, stating: “Since the start of SCJ Renewables in 2018, we have been dedicated to giving back to our local communities. I want to thank the team for their continued support and dedication to these causes, which helps us make a real difference in the region.”
