A new study has revealed that Anfield, Liverpool’s iconic home ground, ranks as the Premier League’s highest-rated stadium, according to Google reviews. Conducted by event insurance specialists Protectivity, the analysis examined visitor feedback for all 20 Premier League stadiums, alongside those relegated in the previous season, to determine which venues garnered the most five-star ratings.
Anfield secured the top spot with 86.99% of its Google reviews marked as five-star, reflecting the positive experiences of 39,293 out of 45,171 reviewers. Known for its passionate atmosphere and historical significance, Anfield also boasts a low percentage of negative feedback, with just 3.48% of its reviews rated one-star. The stadium, which is not only home to Liverpool Football Club but also serves as a venue for major music events, recently hosted Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour and has seen performances from artists such as P!nk, Elton John, and The Rolling Stones.
Close behind Anfield in second place is Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which has an impressive 84.33% of five-star reviews from 20,683 visitors. Like Anfield, the state-of-the-art venue, which opened in 2019, also received a 4.7 out of 5 overall Google rating. It has become a significant entertainment hub, hosting Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour earlier this year. Despite its high ratings, the stadium saw 3.51% of its reviews listed as one-star.
Nottingham Forest’s City Ground secured third place with 80.76% of its reviews rated five stars, followed closely by Manchester United’s Old Trafford, which earned 80.53% of five-star reviews from visitors. The historic Old Trafford, which has a capacity of approximately 50,000 for non-football events, has hosted several major music acts this year, including Green Day, Foo Fighters, and the Arctic Monkeys. Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium rounded out the top five, with 79.08% of visitors giving it five-star reviews. The Emirates has also become a destination for concerts, welcoming performances from bands such as The Killers and Arctic Monkeys.
At the opposite end of the spectrum, Luton Town’s Kenilworth Road ranked as the lowest-rated Premier League stadium, with just 62.21% of its Google reviews marked as five-star. Additionally, 10.64% of visitors gave the ground a one-star rating, highlighting room for improvement in fan satisfaction.
Sean Walsh, Head of Marketing at Protectivity, commented on the findings, noting the importance of fan experience in shaping a stadium’s reputation: “High ratings often reflect an exceptional fan experience, encompassing everything from seating comfort and sightlines to overall atmosphere and accessibility. Stadiums with high satisfaction rates excel at fan engagement, creating a sense of community and belonging.”
The analysis highlights how top-rated stadiums can serve as benchmarks for other venues looking to enhance their facilities. Walsh added: “Stadiums with lower ratings can learn from the best-performing venues to improve their own offerings and create better experiences for fans.”
The top 10 stadiums, according to five-star reviews, include St James’ Park, Etihad Stadium, and Stamford Bridge.
