Georgina Rodríguez has visited the King Fahad National Centre for Children’s Cancer (KFNCCC) in Riyadh as part of an initiative to support young cancer patients. The visit, organised in collaboration with the Spanish charity Juegaterapia Foundation, aimed to bring comfort and encouragement to children undergoing treatment.
Rodríguez, the partner of football star Cristiano Ronaldo, was accompanied by Juegaterapia’s president, Mónica Esteban. During her visit, she distributed “Baby Pelones” dolls, each adorned with a scarf she designed. The dolls, a signature initiative of the charity, are intended to offer emotional support to children with cancer by promoting the power of play.
The visit aligns with KFNCCC’s broader commitment to holistic paediatric care, integrating emotional and psychological support into medical treatment. The centre, a subsidiary of the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSHRC), has been actively engaging in international partnerships to enhance patient care.
KFSHRC itself has been recognised as a leading institution in global healthcare. It was recently ranked as the top academic medical centre in the Middle East and Africa, and 15th worldwide, in a list of the world’s 250 best academic hospitals. The hospital was also named the most valuable healthcare brand in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East, according to the 2025 Brand Finance rankings. Additionally, it was included in Newsweek’s 2025 list of the World’s Best Smart Hospitals.
Rodríguez’s visit highlights the growing emphasis on emotional well-being in paediatric oncology. The partnership with Juegaterapia reinforces the importance of creating a nurturing hospital environment, where play can be a source of strength for young patients.
