A Stockton-based technology company has recruited its first apprentice following a year of record growth, marking a key milestone in its expansion. Intasite, which specialises in streamlining safety and site access processes, saw a 40% increase in turnover and a significant expansion of its client base over the past year.
Kayhan Kajumi, a recent T-Level graduate in Digital, Production, Design & Development, has joined the firm as a Software Developer Apprentice through a collaboration with Middlesbrough College. He brings a range of web development skills, including expertise in JavaScript, HTML & CSS, React, Tailwind, SQL, and version control systems such as Git and Perforce.
Kajumi has a background in web development, having helped businesses establish and improve their online presence. His experience in design, prototyping, development, and maintenance will be key in enhancing Intasite’s digital content, particularly for its health and safety onboarding programmes.
His new role at Intasite will involve both back-end and front-end software development, creating and updating digital content for health and safety inductions, and building training materials. He will also provide customer service and technical support, working closely with various stakeholders to contribute to process improvements and assist in implementing new business ideas.
Intasite’s platform provides a comprehensive suite of tools designed for safety-critical industries, offering digital induction processes that are accessible from any desktop or mobile device. The platform also features contractor and supplier management, safety briefings, and language translations, while integrating with access control systems for enhanced security.
Kajumi expressed his enthusiasm for joining the team at a pivotal time. “I am thrilled to be Intasite’s first apprentice,” he said. “This opportunity allows me to apply my skills in a real-world setting and collaborate with industry leaders. I’m excited to contribute to important projects that improve safety and site access processes and to grow alongside the team.”
As part of his role, Kajumi will work with major industry names such as Budweiser, VirginMedia O2, EDF Renewables, SSE PLC, Sky Studios, CityFibre, and Equinor.
Andy Murphy, Technical Director at Intasite, welcomed Kajumi’s arrival, stating: “We are excited to welcome Kayhan as our first apprentice – hopefully the first of many – which marks an important step in our ongoing expansion. His recruitment comes during a period of strong growth for the company, and we are eager to see how his fresh perspective and skills will contribute to our innovative projects.
“It’s also important for us as a business to support local apprentices, providing them with the experience they need to succeed in a modern workplace,” Murphy added.
Matthew Chan, Skills Development Manager at Northern Skills/Middlesbrough College Group, also praised the collaboration: “It was a pleasure to work with Intasite to help them recruit Kayhan as their first apprentice. We hope this is the start of a long and fruitful partnership with a fast-growing company like Intasite.”
The move comes as Intasite continues to position itself as a leading provider of digital tools for safety-critical industries, helping clients to streamline their safety processes and improve site access.
