- Celebrates innovation ahead of 15th anniversary
Emaar Properties has unveiled a state-of-the-art lighting upgrade for the Burj Khalifa. Featuring revolutionary RGBW technology, the new system combines advanced innovation with the structure’s timeless design. The enhanced façade will be showcased during the UAE’s Eid Al Etihad celebrations on 1 December 2024, preceding the building’s 15th anniversary on 4 January 2025.
This upgrade breathes new life into the Burj Khalifa’s exterior with an expansive palette of vibrant colours and dynamic effects, offering visitors an engaging visual experience while highlighting Dubai’s reputation for creativity and innovation.
The RGBW system underwent six months of testing to ensure smooth integration. Replacing static lights, the dynamic, addressable fixtures deliver intricate lighting patterns suitable for festive displays and everyday illuminations. These new features seamlessly complement the tower’s media screen, maintaining its sleek and modern profile.
Mr Ahmad Al Matrooshi, Executive Director of Emaar Properties, said: “Burj Khalifa has always stood as a beacon of what is possible when vision meets innovation. This lighting overhaul is a testament to our continuous pursuit of excellence and a tribute to the UAE’s spirit of progress. As we unveil this stunning upgrade during Eid Al Etihad celebrations and approach the tower’s 15th anniversary, this transformation marks a new chapter in its legacy, reaffirming Dubai as a city of boundless ambition.”
This lighting transformation sets a new global standard for architectural illumination, blending artistry with cutting-edge technology to inspire similar projects worldwide.
