LG Electronics has introduced its latest innovations in home cleaning technology at IFA 2024 in Berlin, showcasing the CordZero™ All-in-One Tower Combi and an advanced robot vacuum and mop. These new products are designed to streamline household chores, offering users greater efficiency and convenience.
The CordZero All-in-One Tower Combi is a multifunctional cleaning system that brings together the CordZero A9X stick vacuum and the CordZero R5 robot vacuum. This integrated system is not only a space-saving solution but also a powerful tool for maintaining a clean home. The All-in-One Tower Combi simplifies storage and charging, with the docking station serving as a central hub for both devices. One of the standout features is the Dual Auto Empty function, which automatically empties the dustbins of both the stick and robot vacuums, ensuring they are always ready for use.
A key component of the CordZero A9X stick vacuum is LG’s Smart Inverter Motor, engineered to deliver powerful suction. The motor’s rapid spinning action effectively lifts dirt, dust, and debris from various surfaces. Additionally, the vacuum employs KOMPRESSOR™ technology, which compresses collected debris to maximise the dustbin’s capacity, thereby reducing the need for frequent emptying. The CordZero A9X also comes equipped with a Spray Mop feature, making it suitable for efficient mopping on hard floors.
Meanwhile, the CordZero R5 robot vacuum is equipped with advanced mopping capabilities, allowing it to vacuum and mop simultaneously. This is made possible by an automatic water supply system, which keeps the mop wet throughout the cleaning process, eliminating the need for manual intervention. The robot vacuum is also fitted with a 360 LiDAR sensor, which enables it to navigate obstacles and avoid potential accidents, such as falling downstairs.
LG’s new robot vacuum and mop, which is also being unveiled at IFA 2024, is designed to further reduce the effort required to maintain a clean home. The device features an automatic mop cleaning and drying system, which reduces the need for regular maintenance. The robot vacuum’s water tank is automatically filled and emptied, ensuring continuous operation without user input. It also utilises LiDAR technology and a front-facing camera, in conjunction with 3D and other sensors, to navigate and clean with precision. The vacuum’s powerful motor, which delivers up to 10,000 pascals (Pa) of suction, and its rotating mop, spinning at 180 revolutions per minute (rpm), ensure thorough cleaning across all floor types.
To address the issue of odours from wastewater after mopping, LG has incorporated an automatic cleanser dispensing system that washes and dries the mop using hot air. This process reduces the formation of unpleasant odours, making the robot vacuum a more hygienic option for home cleaning. LG has also implemented its Secure Development Lifecycle (LG SDL) to predict and mitigate security risks throughout the product’s development.
Commenting on the new products, Lyu Jae-cheol, president of LG Electronics Home Appliance & Air Solution Company, stated: “We have merged the cleaning and maintenance process into one to deliver the convenient and effortless user experience consumers desire. We are fully committed to introducing a steady stream of innovative home appliances that exceed all expectations, with a strong focus on constantly redefining the seamless user experience.”
LG’s latest cleaning innovations, including the A9X All-in-One Tower Combi and the robot vacuum and mop, will be on display at the company’s exhibition booth at IFA 2024 in Berlin from 6th to 10th September.
