The second annual Foxconn TLPGA Players Championship, presented by the LPGA of Taiwan (TLPGA) and title sponsor Hon Hai Technology Group (Foxconn), is set to take place from 27 February to 2 March 2025 at the Orient Golf & Country Club in Taiwan. With a significant US$1.5 million purse up for grabs, the event will feature 90 of the world’s top female golfers from 11 countries.
The star-studded player roster includes 12 golfers ranked in the world’s top 100, with representatives from prominent tours such as the TLPGA, JLPGA, KLPGA, and the Ladies European Tour (LET). The field is further bolstered by the return of two former World No. 1 players—Jiyai Shin of South Korea and Taiwan’s Yani Tseng—competing together for the first time in a decade.
Among Taiwan’s rising stars, Foxconn-sponsored Chia-Yen Wu, ranked No. 3 in Taiwan, and Pei-Yun Chien, the country’s highest-ranked player globally, will also participate in the prestigious event.
Haruka Kawasaki of Japan, who claimed victory at last year’s championship, will return to defend her title. She will be joined by 22 other JLPGA stars, including titleholders Shiho Kuwaki and Yuri Yoshida. Adding to the excitement, KLPGA players Su-Ji Kim (ranked 39) and You-Min Hwang (ranked 50), as well as Switzerland’s Chiara Tamburlini (ranked 66 and No. 1 on the LET leaderboard) and France’s Perrine Delacour (No. 15 on the LET leaderboard), will make their tournament debut in Taiwan.
The competition will feature golfers from a diverse range of countries, including Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, China, India, Singapore, France, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and Sweden, making it one of the most internationally diverse golf events in Asia. In addition to competing for the coveted championship and 18 ranking points, the players will vie for a slice of the substantial prize pool.
The event promises to be an unforgettable experience for both participants and spectators alike, with raffles, vouchers, food trucks, and daily games offering prizes such as airline tickets, SHARP appliances, Belkin accessories, an iPhone 16, and an iPad Air. Free shuttle buses will be available daily from Taipei’s National Taiwan Museum and the Airport MRT A7 Station to the golf course.
For those unable to attend in person, the tournament will be broadcast live on VL Sports and Sportcast Sports in Taiwan, and on Sky A in Japan, ensuring golf fans across the region can follow the action as it unfolds.
The Foxconn TLPGA Players Championship has quickly established itself as one of the most prestigious golf events in Asia, attracting top-tier talent from across the globe and offering a platform for women’s golf to shine on the international stage.
